FEATURED BEERS

BUXTON/TO ØL
‘Sky Mountain’ Sour Wheat Ale
buxton, england8.2%ABV $8 (6oz) / $16 (330ml)
A delightfully tart and delicately complex thirst quencher.  Nuanced exotic notes of lychee, papaya, and jasmine leap from the glass integrating with the more subtle notes of sweet apple skin, grassy hops and orange peel.  The hop presence is just enough to tame the sour and invite the next sip.

STILLWATER ARTISINAL ALES
‘Tenacity’ Wild Farmhouse IPA
baltimore, maryland6%ABV
$9 (6oz) / $32 (22oz)
Fantastic hybrid brewed with Belgian yeast, multiple Brett strains, then dry hopped with Galaxy, Centennial, and Columbus. Earthy Brett funk provides a bass note for ripe tropical fruit, pithy citrus, and danky pine.  The barest hint of fresh citrus appears to brighten the mid-palate  before being fully consumed by hop bitterness and another round of funk.  Impressive in its layered complexity, while maintaining an easy, summertime crushability.

BY THE GLASS

HEIDRUN MEADERY‘Madras Carrot Blossom’Mead, point reyes station, california

5.5%ABV…..$12 (6oz)…$60 (750ml).
Heidrun focuses on meads made in the champagne method using a single flower variety. Bottle fermentation brings out the honey’s natural floral nature and allows the yeast to ferment the mead to fully dry.  The Madras Carrot Blossom offers rich, earthy and herbaceous notes with a refreshing Lambic-like tartness.

OL’ REPUBLIC ‘Lucky Joe’English-style IPA, nevada city, california
5.9%ABV……...$6 (6oz)….$20 (22oz).
Crafted in the style of the birthplace of the IPA. (No, not San Diego). Rich amber malts set up a sturdy backbone of caramel, toffee, and sweet bread,  Traditional earthy English hops bring aromatics and flavors of orange pekoe tea, white flowers, peppery spice, and hints of citrus.  With the hops and malts interweaving beautifully across the palate, this is one of the most impeccably balanced beers available

COMMONS BREWERY‘Fleur de Ferme’, Dark Saison, portland, oregon
6%ABV……...$8 (6oz)….$32 (750ml).
A dark farmhouse ale with hibiscus, lavender and chamomile added at the end of the boil. Gorgeous perfumed floral aromatics lead into candied dark fruits, ripe berries, and a subtle herbal bitterness keeping everything in balance.  Malted spelt adds a nutty richness, and an elegant, silky mouthfeel.

STONE BREWING CO.‘2015 Classic Release’ Imperial Russian Stout, escondido, california
10.6%ABV……...$7 (6oz)….$25 (22oz).
This massive and intensely aromatic beer abounds with anise, black currants, coffee, and subtle savory notes.  An additional 12 months of bottle aging has developed further complexity with cinnamon spice and dark walnut flavors expressing themselves after a long bittering finish.
